Proven service.
Strong leadership.
Ready to fight for Jacksonville’s future.

Matt is running for City Council to bring real leadership, fiscal discipline, and a commitment to public safety and quality of life to City Hall. His priorities are straightforward:

A former Division I athlete, Matt earned his degree from the University of Central Florida and went on to complete his MBA at Auburn University. His path to service was anything but traditional – from performing at Shamu Stadium to earning his Wings of Gold as a Naval Aviator – but it reflects the determination and work ethic that define him.

Over a distinguished Navy career,
Matt flew missions around the world in support of the Global War on Terror, Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, and Active Endeavor. His service earned him two Air Medals, multiple Navy Commendation Medals, the Meritorious Service Medal as well as Combat Aircrew of the Year and Pilot of the Year honors. As a Commanding Officer, he led 120 Sailors and officers to historic recognition as the region’s Large Unit of the Year. Today, he continues to serve as North Florida’s Navy Emergency Preparedness Liaison Officer, coordinating disaster response across the region.
Matt and his wife, Stephanie, are raising their two young children on the Westside. A commercial airline pilot by trade, Matt is deeply invested in Jacksonville’s future and has been recognized as a Jacksonville Business Journal 40 Under 40 honoree, while helping raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for local schools and charities.
